Hair

To be grey or not to be grey? That is the question.

Over 50s have never had so much choice when it comes to hair colour. Options include

  • The natural look (simply allowing your hair to go grey at its own pace)
  • Highlights and Lowlights
  • Semi permanent colours
  • Permanent colours (the “I’m NEVER going grey!” look)

A great haircut is important at any age, but for the over 50s this is particularly true. The right style and colour can take years off – and the wrong style and colour can have the opposite effect.

Here are a few tips:

  • If you’ve had the same hairstyle for the last 20 years it’s probably time to reassess (and this applies to both men and women).
  • Ladies, your long flowing locks may have turned many a head in your youth but generally speaking the more mature face can be “dragged down” by long hair.
  • Get a good hairdresser - a great cut is worth every penny.
  • Ask family and friends who you trust what they really think about your current style/colour
  • Once you have found a style/colour that suits you make a diary note to reassess in 12 months time. Don’t get stuck in a rut!
